Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data The Readscope (“we”, “us”) collects when you use this website, why we collect it, who we share it with and what rights you have. We keep it short and specific on purpose. If something here is unclear, write to us at hello@thereadscope.com.
1. Who is responsible
The controller of your personal data on this website is The Readscope, based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. You can reach us at hello@thereadscope.com.
2. What this policy covers
It covers this website. Our plugins and products each have their own website, and some are distributed through WordPress.org. The plugins themselves run on your own WordPress site and keep their data in your database. We do not receive it, and the plugin readmes list any optional outside service you can switch on. The product websites have their own notices.
3. What we collect and why
| What | Why | Legal basis | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Contact form: name, email address, topic and your message | To read and answer your message | Our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, or steps you ask us to take before a contract | As long as needed to deal with your request, then deleted or archived in our mailbox |
| Spam protection: a hashed (not readable) visitor key kept for about 30 seconds | To stop automated message floods | Legitimate interest in keeping the form working | About 30 seconds |
| Server logs: IP address, browser type, page requested, date and time | Security, fault finding and keeping the site available | Legitimate interest | Kept by our hosting provider for a short period under its own settings |
| Comments (where enabled): name, email, website, comment text and IP address | To publish and moderate your comment and prevent spam | Consent, when you submit the comment | Until you ask us to delete it |
| Theme preference: a light or dark choice saved in your browser | To remember how you like the site displayed | Strictly needed for a feature you asked for | Stays on your device only until you clear it |
We do not sell personal data. We do not run advertising or profiling on this website.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
This website does not set tracking or advertising cookies, and it uses only cookie-less analytics (see "Website analytics" below). WordPress itself sets a few cookies only if you log in or leave a comment. The light/dark choice is stored in your browser’s local storage and never sent to us.
If we add analytics or other optional technologies in the future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
5. Who we share data with
- Hosting provider (Hostinger): stores the website and its logs on our behalf.
- Email provider: delivers messages sent through the contact form to our mailbox.
- Payment and licensing partner: Pro plans are bought on each product’s own website through our checkout partner, which handles payment and licence details under its own terms and privacy notice. We do not collect card numbers on this website.
- Authorities: if the law requires it.
Fonts and scripts on this website are served from our own server, so your browser does not contact font or script providers when you load a page. Links to other websites (WordPress.org, GitHub, social networks) and the share links on blog posts only contact those services if you click them, and their own policies apply from that point.
6. International transfers
Our hosting and email providers may process data outside your country. Where the law requires safeguards for such transfers, we rely on the mechanisms those providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.
7. How we keep data safe
The site is served over HTTPS, software is kept up to date, access to the admin area is limited and protected, and we collect only what we need. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps and will notify you and the authorities when the law requires.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct data that is wrong;
- delete your data;
- limit or object to how we use it;
- move data you gave us to another service;
- withdraw consent you gave, at any time, without affecting earlier use.
Email hello@thereadscope.com and we will reply within one month. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Children
This website is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has sent us data, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We will post updates on this page and change the date at the top. For significant changes we will make the change easy to notice.
11. Contact
The Readscope, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Email: hello@thereadscope.com.
Website analytics
We measure visits with Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics service. It does not use cookies, does not build profiles of individual visitors and does not track you across other websites. We see aggregate figures such as page views, referrers, countries, browsers and devices. We use them to understand which content helps people and to improve this website. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running and improving the site.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we use your email address to send the free download, new guides and product news. Your address is stored on this website and by our email service provider, Brevo, which processes it on our behalf. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email. We keep your address until you unsubscribe.
